Our CHAS Renewal: What Being a Principal Contractor Means

by Rejus, 4th November 2021

Rejus was recently awarded our annual certificate of accreditation from the Contractor Health and Safety Scheme (CHAS), once more earning the highest standard of award as a Principal Contractor.

CHAS pride themselves on being “The UK’s Leading Provider of Risk Prevention, Compliance and Supply Chain Management Services for Clients and Contractors” and it’s our responsibility as a Principal Contractor to represent the high standards of the accreditation.

It’s the aim of CHAS to improve health and safety standards across the UK, protecting both contractors and their clients. It’s been a reliable process for setting industry benchmarks, allowing further trust to be built between organisations.

These standards are assessed by CHAS across multiple industries, and importantly for Rejus this includes Facilities Management and Construction.

As a trusted advisor of health and safety compliance, CHAS takes on the responsibility to carefully assess and monitor contractors across the country, and we’re happy to announce that we have been entrusted once more with the award of Principle Contractor.

Rejus Ltd are once again to demonstrate, via external auditing, that they can deliver to the highest standards of the national benchmark.

Mat Lynds, Director of Rejus, stated;

"To achieve this award again, coupled with a near perfect accident record, I hope will give our customers, staff, and contractors the re-assurance that when they work with Rejus, their safety is paramount."

This award is a step up in assessed competence from the industry standard of an Accredited Contractor. Since CHAS themselves have recently been awarded the Feefo Platinum Trusted Service Award, Rejus is proud to have once more passed the required steps for them to award us the respected accreditation.
