Doncaster Council Partners With Online App Promoting Local Businesses

ShopAppy.com/Doncaster is a free initiative launched by Doncaster Council in order to encourage residents to keep using local businesses. The app connects local residents to local businesses and allows them to order a wide range of products, a move designed to re-invigorate the high street.

The app and website is free and available to all Doncaster businesses, allowing for a one stop shop experience for consumers, encouraging the use of local shops.

Councillor Glyn Jones, Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member for Housing and Business, said they're wanting to "encourage our local independents right across the borough to sign up" and is confident that the app provides a new way of reaching out to customers.

Rejus is always happy to see innovations in business and technology, especially when it's targeted at improving how independent businesses both acquire new customers and provide their services to all shoppers.

ShopAppy.com seems to have a lot of potential to strengthen the community and economy in Doncaster. The app also runs in over 100 locations across the United Kingdom, and it's clear that this could lead to a renaissance for small and independent businesses across the country.

Echoing this sentiment, Hannah Shekle from Dreambakes told Business Doncaster;

“I believe ShopAppy brings the convenience of online ordering that large retailers have to customers, while retaining the personal service and care that small retailers provide"

Revolutions in technology and communication has always been the fuel to the fire of how businesses adapt and grow, and the community focused benefits of ShopAppy make it a great app for mutually beneficial changes. Local Businesses can go to the website now and set up a free profile, driving more footfall to their store and allowing customers buy from them through ShopAppy.

The app allows you to both order products on delivery or use a click & collect system to pay for and reserve your items. The website also allows you to see the events being put on by the local businesses in your area. This is something we at Rejus are very happy to see, as we're always looking to show our support for local events and community activities.

Anthony Firth, from The Shoe Healer, told Business Doncaster;

"The new website will make it easier to see what we have in stock, buy online and then come in to pick your shoes up or we can deliver them to wherever you want. Support your Doncaster shops.”

ShopAppy.com offers a variety of local businesses that already signed up, covering everything from tailors to greengrocers, from bakers to bridalwear. Here at Rejus, we're encouraging people to think local and give the app and website a try. For local businesses in Doncaster, give the free service a go and expand your outreach.
